Description
This is Ganymede, a variegated colorway with vibrant shades of purple, blue, and green.
Jupiter’s moon Ganymede (“GAN uh meed”) is the largest satellite in the solar system. Larger than Mercury and Pluto, and only slightly smaller than Mars, it would easily be classified as a planet if it were orbiting the sun rather than Jupiter.
It is the only moon known to have its own magnetic field. The magnetic field causes auroras, which are ribbons of glowing, hot, electrified gas, in regions circling the north and south poles of the moon.
When I saw this finished colorway, Ganymede popped in my head and I just couldn’t shake it.

With all hand dyed yarn there will be some variation from skein to skein, even within the same dye lot. If you are knitting a project that requires more than one skein, I recommend alternating skeins.
Handwashing and laying flat to dry are recommended. However, the superwash yarn bases can be machine washed in cool water on a gentle/wool cycle.

Rachel is such an amazing fiber artist. This colorway was a special request I had and oh my goodness, it turned out amazing. She took her time and provided me with updates as she worked on it. The yarn, oh my, is so soft and feels very high quality. I can’t wait to make something using Ganymede just so I can show it off!
